EuroQCI Spain at Quantum Communications Networks in Aveiro, Portugal

Quantum Communications Network

The Instituto de Telecomunicações in Aveiro and the consortium PTQCI are hosting a workshop on quantum communication networks from February 26 to 27. The event aims to unite key players in quantum technologies to brainstorm and share ideas on implementing the future quantum communications network nationally and across Europe. Presentations will focus on the PTQCI project and other international quantum networks (Spain, Austria, and the USA), engaging the government, industry, and academia.

The PTQCI consortium aims to develop and deploy quantum communications infrastructure in Portugal as part of the EuroQCI – European Quantum Communications Network – an initiative to establish quantum-secure communications throughout Europe in the coming years.

Universities and research centers like Instituto de Telecomunicações, ISEL, and IST, along with national bodies such as GNS, IPQ, and FCCN, make up the consortium. Industrial entities like Deimos, Adyta, Omnidea, and Warpcom, and telecommunications companies like IP Telecom and Altice Labs also contribute to the consortium.
